Harris Wharf
Harris Wharf has grown to become a contemporary classic that began from a family history of textile craftmanship and innovation. The brand began in 2010 when Italian designer siblings Giulia and Aldo Acchiardi moved to London to find creative inspiration for their collections. High quality fabrics and timeless shapes are at the core of Harris Wharf with exceptionally cut, sophisticated coats which come in a variety of beautifully coloured pressed and boiled wool fabrics. Parajumpers
Parajumpers was founded in 2005 in Alaska during an accidental meeting between designer Massimo Rossetti and a member of the 210th Rescue Squadron. Rossetti was inspired by the story of the ‘Parajumpers’ (jumping parachutists) which are a special high-quality military section based in Alaska that carry out extreme rescue missions on the sea and at high altitudes. Rossetti wanted to celebrate these contemporary heroes by creating innovative outerwear with highly technological components based on the clothing worn by the Rescue Squadron. Technological innovations means that the brand’s designs are extremely durable with everlasting pieces created to bring you something a little different. OOF
Italian brand OOF is back this season to keep you cosy with their reinterpreted classic coats. The brand is known for their oversized, reversible outerwear and use of an environmentally sustainable fibre filling made from recycled plastic bottles. One of the brand’s aims for the future is to increase their use of recycled and sustainable materials while continuing to create their unique, multi-purpose coats and jackets that we love so much. This season at Rio Brazil we have OOF’s reversible tech twill coat with two styles featuring one side in black and a choice of military green or tobacco for the reverse. This practical jacket features a lined hood, two types of pockets and an off-centre fastening with contrasting coloured buttons. Ottod’ame
If you love laid-back, quirky designs then look no further than Italian brand Ottod’ame. This brand was founded in Florence in 2003 by designer Silvia Mazzoli who wanted to combine traditional Italian quality with fresh and contemporary designs. Their philosophy is based around their name Ottod’Ame, meaning ‘eight women’ which refers to the creative women who shared Mazzoli’s vision. This season at Rio Brazil the brand is back with another wonderfully unique collection to brighten our wardrobes. If you fancy a coat with a pop of colour this season, try our wool-mohair-blend coat which comes oversized with a dropped shoulder and the option of vibrant orange or baby blue. Rains
Danish brand Rains is known for its conceptual-meets-functional design approach with a minimal, urban aesthetic that can be blended into any outfit. Rains began in Denmark in 2012 when designers Philip Lotko and Daniel Hesselager brainstormed a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic raincoat “to enjoy yourself even on rainy days” inspired by typical cloudy Scandinavian weather. Lotko and Hasselager wanted to challenge traditional rainwear perceptions and create a brand that would give wearers the opportunity to display their personal style, even when the weather gets in the way. The brand has a strong urban inspiration and is known mainly for their signature coated waterproof fabric and ultrasonically welded seams which they continue to use across their designs. This season at Rio Brazil we have a range of coats and jackets from the brand, including a liner jacket so you can layer up your raincoat for the colder weather.
Baum und Pferdgarten
If you love to stand out from the crowd, Danish brand Baum Und Pferdgarten is back this season with coats to make your wardrobe pop! Founded in Copenhagen in 1999 by Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave, the brand sees the Pferdgarten woman as someone who has a creative sense of style and loves fashion with ease. The duo strive to inspire women to tell their own story through the clothing they wear and continue to create new and innovative collections, taking inspiration from all around them. The brand creates timeless pieces in a beautiful mix of fabrics, creative prints and a playful contrast of colour. This season Pferdgarten brings us the jaw-dropping quilted Delara coat which comes in an oversized fit with the option of black or adrenaline-rush red. The Dory coat is a big contrast from this with a more classy look in a maroon faux leather with contrasting fabrics. Danish designer Stine Goya has been breaking barriers with her expressive prints and bold use of colour since she launched her label in 2006. Taking inspiration from strong community values and her favourite artists, Goya has always strived to empower wearers with loud, colourful printed designs that celebrate the joyful moments in everyday life. The house of Goya re-imagines Scandinavian fashion which was once dominated by minimalist designs and muted tones. Our quirky Elaine puffer jacket comes in a bold, floral pointillism print with contrasting silver lining and a cinchable hood and waist.
