How Much Can We Grow?
Danish designer Stine Goya has been breaking barriers with her expressive prints and bold use of colour since she launched her label in 2006. Taking inspiration from strong community values and her favourite artists, Goya has always strived to empower wearers with unique designs that celebrate the joyful moments in everyday life. The brand’s collections are locally rooted, focusing inward on her own community of creatives and celebrating them on a global scale. The house of Goya re-imagines Scandinavian fashion which was once dominated by minimalist designs and muted tones. This alternative brand is ideal for those who love to make a statement or fancy something a little different for their wardrobe and this Spring Goya makes no exception with another collection full of colour and fun.
SS22 is a love letter to the world’s creative communities.
Stine Goya
This season Goya brings us a collection inspired by the power of creative minds and the idea that without writers, dancers and makers, our world as we know it wouldn’t be worth knowing at all. Goya revealed this collection inspired by the Bloomsbury Set, a group of English intellectuals, philosophers, artists, and writers including names like Virginia Woolf. Goya took inspiration from the charming interiors shared by the collective and their colourful countryside headquarters for her prints and even named her collection ‘How Much Can We Grow?’ from a line in the collectives verse. Goya merges this inspiration with a subtle grunge theme carried over from her previous designs to stay true to the brand’s aesthetic.
This Spring the brand stays true to their style with voluminous silhouettes cut in responsible fabrics dressed in perfectly matched maximalist prints that the brand is known so well for. This collection brings us the beautiful abstract tulip print seen on Goya’s ‘Jasmine’ and the brand new ‘Elizabeth.’ Goya brings us something a little different this time with the gorgeous baby-blue peplum co-ord set ‘Britney’ & ‘Isra’ which also features the tulip print and can be worn for an occasion or dressed down separately. If you’re looking for something to wear more casually we have the vibrant ‘Samiya’ jacket which comes in mandarin and pink fleece. For casual wear we also have ‘Julie’ and ‘Greta’ in a chunky lilac block-knit which are both great for layering. These quirky and fun pieces can be layered with block colour and print for a more alternative look or toned down with some neutral colours and lace-up boots or trainers to make them everyday-wearable.
