Munthe is a luxury womenswear brand that was was established in 1994 in Copenhagen by designer Naja Munthe. The brand is known for it’s carefree Scandinavian style with feminine silhouettes, hand painted prints and innovative fabrics. This brand is an example of classic Nordic style which is aimed at women who work, run a family or are just constantly on the go and need something comfortable and practical as well as stylish. Munthe is best known for their hand-painted prints, feminine silhouettes and contrasting characteristics with well-executed ideas and attention to detail. This Pre-Spring 2022 collection includes some signature Munthe features with feminine cuts, oversized collars and baby-doll ruffles. The collection explores Danish art and design including traditional dress and frescoes which are considered to be a treasure in Denmark. This pre-spring ’22 collection includes intricate hand-painted prints, broderie anglaise, laser cut fabrics and 50’s style Peter Pan collars with pieces that can be mixed and matched to suit any occasion. This collection was designed during travel restrictions which inspired the designers to go back to their roots and explore their own history and culture. The pre-collection is a celebration of Danish literary treasures and beautiful Danish church frescoes which are a unique art treasure with hand-painted prints inspired by the frescoes like our ‘Nestlia’ babydoll ruffle dress which looks great with knee-length boots like our Grenson Nanette High.

The collection includes pieces that are great for casual wear like our ‘Nolo’ leather trousers and chunky, relaxed knits like ‘Nalu’ and ‘Nimble’. For something to wear in the evening we have our ‘Numina’ printed blouse with a gorgeous gold trim or our ‘Noel’ red striped bib shirt which can be styled up or down to suit the occasion. These pre-spring pieces pair well with some tights and our Grenson leather boots or some chunky trainers a little further into the spring.
