Hayley Menzies is based in London and is a contemporary luxury label for women. Menzies’ fashion career began in London but she took a few detours before coming back in a full circle to what she knows best. Every collection is often referred to as a “rock n’ rolling stone” aesthetic that we all know and love. Hayley Menzies had set up a stall on Portobello Market in 2011 with a few vintage items that had been reworked not sure on whether it would take off, fast-forward 13 years and now Menzies’ business stocked in over 100 stores in 17 countries worldwide. For Menzies’ climate change is an important factor to her company when creating her collections. Due to the climate rapidly declining each year and fast fashion is a top contributor to the crisis, Menzies’ is out on a mission to help us distribute less and to reuse more. Menzies’ specialises in fabrics such as knitwear and silk that are known to be long lasting and durable when creating time capsule treasures for ‘life refining rebels’ as Menzies likes to say.
Hayley Menzies’ is not one to shy away from an obscure pattern or an unusual colour with her collections. As Menzies’ travelled and lived in Asia we often see her incorporate parts of her travels in each collection such as her Tiger Side Split Silk Maxi Skirt – inspired by Hayley’s favourite animal, a Tiger in chinoiserie type of setting.
